SOCIETY OF ST VINCENT DE PAUL (SSVP) - SERVING THE NEEDY

The Society of St Vincent De Paul takes care of the social needs of the Parish by adopting deserving families and helping them with rations, medical and educational aid. They also undertake other special charitable works towards the poor and the downtrodden.

LITURGY COMMITTEE – ACTIVE PARTICIPATION

“Liturgy is the summit towards which the activity of the Church is directed. It is the fount from which all her power flows” (SC 10). The Liturgy Committee consists of representatives from the different
ministries like lectors, commentators, choir and altar servers; along with the religious members of the parish. The purpose of the Liturgy Committee is to prepare for the liturgical celebrations and to coordinate different ministries for the active participation of the people.

ST MICHAEL’S ASSOCIATION – PROTECTOR

St Michael’s Association caters to the spiritual and social needs of the residents of Michaelpalya. Its activities include celebrating the annual Feast of St Michael, monthly prayer meetings and assisting with the parish programmes.

FAITH FORMATION TEAM – KEEPING THE FAITH

The Faith formation team is in charge of the weekly catechism classes, as well as the First Holy Communion and Confirmation preparation classes. Catechism classes are conducted from nursery to 12th Std on every sunday's, from 8:45am to 9:45am

RESURRECTION SCC GROUPS – CHURCH IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Small Christian Communities (SCC) are a way of being church to each other, not just on Sunday but every day. SCC groups aim to grow in personal spiritual experience through the sharing of the Word of God, as well as developing neighbourly relationships with the poor, the needy and the marginalised.

It is connected to the Parish Church.

RESURRECTION PARISH YOUTH GROUP (RPYG) – REJUVENATING THE CHURCH

RPYG is a religious group for the youth of the parish. It caters towards getting youth, involved in faith-based activities and spiritual awakening. It aims for the youth, to grow more deeply in their personal as well as spiritual life and build community spirit through volunteer work for church related activities.

The youth group is led by a team of dedicated leaders who are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our members. We welcome all teenagers who are seeking to deepen their relationship with God and build meaningful connections with others.

LEGION OF MARY – WALK WITH OUR MOTHER

The objective of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members, developed by prayer and active co-operation in Church work, led by the intercession of Mother Mary. The members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of the sick, both in their homes and in hospitals, house visits and uniting separated families.

There are 2 Legion of Mary units:
Mother of Divine Mercy
Blessed Mother of Mirror of Justice

INDIRANAGAR KONKANI KUTAM – CELEBRATING TRADITION

The Indiranagar Konkani Kutam (IKK) is an extended family of Konkani Catholics from Indiranagar and its immediate surroundings. The purpose of this group is to meet the religious and cultural needs of the Konkani families living in the area.

ST JOSEPH’S WELFARE ASSOCIATION – WELFARE IN THE COMMUNITY

The purpose of the Association is to develop, sustain, organise and nurture the spiritual, social, cultural, welfare needs of the Malayalam speaking Catholics of Resurrection Church.

ALTAR SERVERS – ASSISTING AT THE ALTAR

“Our true worth does not consist in what human beings think of us. What we really are, consists in what God knows us to be.” (St John Berchmans, patron saint of Altar Servers).

 

Altar servers are integral part of the Church. They assist or serve the Priest or Deacon at the altar before, during, and after the Communion service.

SAHAYA MAHILA SANGHA – IMPARTING VOCATIONAL SKILLS

This group belongs to the Bangalore Multipurpose Social Service Society (BMSSS). It is a self-help group facilitating economic, self-sufficiency and capacity building among its members. BMSSS coordinators provide training
in various skills and trades for sustainable income generation.
